Andre Latour, like many Greene County residents, has a deep appreciation for the region and its rich history. Though he spent most of his life downstate, he was captivated by the Hudson Valley and its many opportunities for success. Armed with a passion for brewing and an eye on the perfect property to realize his dreams, he moved upstate. Now, the newly opened Brewery LaHoff at 50 Vedder Road in Coxsackie is serving up delicious drinks and a healthy dose of history.

Pim Veegers considers himself more of an outsider than the area is used to. He’s not only new as a full-time resident of Greene County, he’s still somewhat new to the States as well. But he hasn’t let either of those things stop him from embracing opportunities here and learning as much as he can in the process. His can-do mentality has made his transition from New York City to Catskill easy. At the newly opened Citiot at 404 Main Street in Catskill, he’s giving Greene County a little taste of everything.

The networking and organizational skills he developed in the entertainment industry prepared him for transitioning to the restaurant industry. But nothing prepared him more for his career shift than moving from the hustle and bustle of New York City to the relaxed nature of Greene County. Now he’s a vital part of the community, serving delicious meals out of Mama’s Boy Burgers at 6067 Main Street in Tannersville.

It’s these twin passions that drive her latest enterprise, Current Cassis at 150 Water Street in Catskill. In her cozy production facility located over Left Bank Ciders, she’s whipping up a seriously sippable blackcurrant liqueur that’s best shared with friends and family alike.

Marta Edmonds’ passion for the Locavore Lifestyle and creative collaboration led her to establish her business that “crafts hand rolled rustic flatbreads, wafers and crisps that highlight the bounty of the Catskills”. Since moving her production facility into the ARC Mid-Hudson building on 9W in Catskill, she’s expanded her workforce to expand her offering of delectable edibles throughout the Hudson Valley.

Revitalizing the Region and Working Wonders at The Wire Event Center in Coxsackie, NY — May 24, 2021

Aaron Flach and his wife Rebecca have a deep appreciation for all the beautiful and storied buildings throughout Greene County. Though time has taken its toll on some locations, they know history is worth preserving. That’s what drives their latest passion project – developing a multi-acre Coxsackie riverfront site into an event center and hotel. The finished property will run from the end of Historic Reed Street, south along River Street to the site of a former wire factory. Aptly named The Wire Event Center, the location is expected to draw hundreds of new visitors each week, welcoming weddings, conferences, and community fundraisers.

Prior to this past September, Katie Hartsough marketed her curated selection of sustainable home products on-line at KaaterskillMarket.com and around Great Northern Catskills at farmers markets and craft fairs. MaryJo Murphy sold her husband Mike’s Catskill Mountain Woodworking much the same way. But when a 3-month lease became available on a cozy storefront at the heart of the Downstreet Catskill business community, the pair chose to try their hands at traditional retail – at least for the 2020 Holiday Shopping Season.
