Revival of the Classic Catskill Mountain Getaway
Originally established as New Goshen by settlers from Goshen Connecticut, the town was re-named Lexington by Silas Fowler who fought at the battles of Lexington & Concord as a captain in the Revolutionary War. This agrarian community became a destination for vacationers after WWII as home to some of the quintessential, family-run Catskill Mountain resorts. Today, a burgeoning craft beverage and natural products industry is prominent in Lexington, along with newly renovated small hotels welcoming visitors all four seasons of the year.
