Job growth by place of work in Greene County rose by 300 jobs, or 2.1% between March 2014 and March 2015. The percentage growth rate continued to be second among non New York City counties in the state behind tiny Hamilton County. Job growth among New York’s 24 non-metropolitan counties as a whole was 700 jobs, or 0.1%.
The next fastest growth rates were in the Kingston Metropolitan Area (up 2.0%) and in Columbia County (up 1.9%), so clearly our region is a good place to be at the present time.
New York State job growth was 1.7%. The State had a record 9,101,300 non-farm jobs, and a record 7,753,700 private-sector jobs.
