Anthony DErrico’s dream business was to own and operate a juice bar. Service has always been his thing. After serving in the US Air Force and as a police officer in Delaware, he was looking for a way to bring his family back to Greene County and provide for them with a business with an unwavering commitment to community.
Anthony personifies a healthy lifestyle, a welcoming presence, and service to community and family. When he walked into the Catskill location of The Juice Branch 5 years ago and met proprietor George Salter he knew he had found a brother who shared his passions.
George and Natasha Law opened the Catskill location in 2018, and expanded to Hudson after pandemic restrictions were lifted. They now offer over 100 different cold pressed juices and smoothies. Açaí bowls smoothie bowl options. Vegan soup is made fresh daily in fall and winter, and healthy breakfast bowls are incredibly popular.
The revitalization of the Main Street business district in Cairo continues to attract unique, community- oriented businesses, so it was the logical location for Anthony & George to expand the brand. They found an available storefront at 455 Main Street that had been the former home of a barbershop which had been closed for some time. After working with developer Chris Keff on the interior build-out, the Cairo Juice Branch joined other notables such as See & Be Kitchen, Red Star Café, Delightful Bites by Nina, and Old Factory Brewing Company in late April, 2024.
“We continue to work hard for the business community on Main Street” says Greene County Legislator Sherry True (who was joined by her colleague Harry Lennon at the ribbon cutting). “The Juice Branch is a wonderful addition to a walkable, vibrant district – from Mountain Ave. to the Fountain at the fork, and beyond.”
Just as in Catskill and in Hudson, The Juice Branch Brand and Mission is thriving in Cairo. They continue to “Bridge the Gap between you and health, through education, culture, and fun!”
