Angela’s Pizzeria & Brewery: Joining Forces with an Award-Winning Brewmaster — June 17, 2015

The LoBianco Family of Angela’s Pizzeria and Brewery entered the food service industry in 1973. Since then, they’ve opened 15 different restaurants, all of which are still thriving except for one. In addition, they embarked into the ‘craft beer brewery niche’ in 1995, and Angela’s is the 3rd brewing establishment opened under their management. They also own and operate the Hyde Park Brewing Co.

Kay Stamer, Greene County Chamber Distinguished Service Award — June 4, 2015

It’s a tremendous understatement to say that Kay Stamer has been very busy improving the Arts in Greene County! In addition to her duties as Executive Director of the Greene County Council on the Arts since 1982, she is program coordinator for the Arts Council’s Youth ArtsReach after-school workshops, and has also served to create and further the Arts-in-Education partnerships with schools in Greene, Columbia and Schoharie Counties. She oversees the County Initiative Program, which re-grants County funds to major Greene County cultural organizations. She managed the cultural side of the Riverside Market at the historic Catskill Point for ten years prior to the Market’s move to Main Street, Catskill. She was a founding member of the Arts Council in 1975, and served on its Board of Directors through 1980.

The Greenville Drive-In Goes Digital for the 2015 Season — May 26, 2015

The new operators of the RT 32 Greenville Drive-In, Dwight Grimm and Leigh Van Swall of Preston Hollow, are eagerly awaiting their digital projector, which is scheduled to make its debut for the July 4th opening weekend. “We put half the money down, and our projector is currently down in Maryland and should be coming up,” said Grimm in last Friday’s front-page Times Union article. A Kickstarter fundraising campaign will help meet the remaining cost of conversion to digital.

Salon 255: A Flair for Small Business Expansion — May 15, 2015

Spring Kelsey, owner of Salon 255 and the Creative Studio of Dance in Coxsackie, is a successful small business-owner who expanded operation through a Quantum Fund Loan and Microenterprise Assistance Program grant. Prior to opening Salon 255 Ltd, she applied her talents in Greenville for 19 years, first as an employee of Hair-Tique Salon, and then as owner and operator of the business for the next 16 years. But the purchase of the Coxsackie building proved instrumental in her business’s expansion.
